At St Ives Surf School our friendly and experienced team offer a variety of surf lessons; for absolute beginners, improvers or advanced surfers. We also offer great discounts for large groups, families, hen and stag do’s, team building and birthday parties. In all of our surfing lessons equipment is included free of charge and we provide onsite secure changing facilities, male/female toilets and showers.
All children under 8 wanting to learn to surf will need to supervised by a parent or guardian. We will supply a wetsuit free of charge.

Beginner (2 hours)
The beginner lesson is aimed at total newcomers to surfing. Once you’ve been kitted out with all your gear you’ll learn everything you need to know about beach safety, paddling techniques, how to catch waves and finally the fundamentals of getting to your feet on the board. By the end of your lesson you will be wondering why you didn’t start sooner.
Improvers (2 hours)
So you’ve had a few lessons, caught the surfing bug and are looking to further develop your skills? The improver lesson covers aspects of surfing such as turning your board, gaining speed, duck diving and catching unbroken waves. We also offer a variety of boards to suit the needs of the improving surfer.
Heading our advanced coaching team is one of Europe’s best competitive surfers, Rip Curl team rider and Uk tour champion, Jayce Robinson. Jayce combines his expert knowledge and experience with video analysis and fitness training to ensure every advanced surfer is reaching their full potential, whether that be free surfing or in the competitive arena.
